Glitches, Bugs, Errors

If we judge a game by the number of glitches, bugs, errors, etc., then should the Fallout series be the worst games ever? Nope. No number of bugs can ruin Fallout due to its open world, deep story, and great gameplay. Also, with today’s technology, game developers continue to release patch updates for their games, removing glitches in the process. If you really do despise glitches, just wait a few weeks for the first patch update; some even come out on the same day as the game itself.
Soundtrack

Sports games, in particular, always have different songs during menus, but during the game itself, not so much. If the songs aren’t to your liking, then that shouldn’t matter because menus these days only take seconds to navigate; some games even let you turn off songs under settings.
Content

Journey, Flower, Everybody’s Gone to The Rapture – should we give these games a low score because they only have a few hours of gameplay? Not every developer cares about providing hundreds of hours worth of gameplay; instead, they focus on rich storytelling and great gameplay. Quality over quantity.
No Online Features

“Wolfenstein: New Order is single-player. End of discussion.” Pete Hines.
Let’s discuss :). No multiplayer should have no effect when reviewing games. Same as the content, quality over quantity. Don’t judge a game by its lack of multiplayer; instead, enjoy the single-player experience.
Replay Value

The first playthrough will always be the best. The thrill of stepping into the unknown and not knowing what comes next. New Game Plus is a popular feature in today’s gaming. Dark Souls, in particular, likes to up the difficulty, but the first time I played Dark Souls will always be the best, and a harder difficulty will never change that.
Graphics

Assassin’s Creed Unity and Syndicate sure do look great, but are they the best in the series? No. The more time that goes into the graphics, the less time goes into the gameplay, story, characters, etc. Graphics should, in fact, be the last thing to judge a game by.
